ABOUT COME TOGETHER
The Come Together initiative is designed to engage Local Theater Company audiences and artists by fostering spaces of belonging. We may enter as strangers, but we’ll leave having shared a communal experience.
Local Theater Company discovers, develops, and produces exceptional new plays. Come Together acknowledges that you, the audience, are a vital part of developing and experiencing new plays.
Come Together events are open to the public and offered free of charge. BIPOC theater makers interested in learning more about BIPOC Convening are invited to contact Betty Hart, Co-Artistic Director, Community Engagement & New Plays below.

The COME TOGETHER Series includes:
POST-SHOW CONVERSATIONS
Post-show conversations are presented in concert with each Season 13 production (You Enjoy Myself, acts of faith, and 237 Virginia Avenue) and allow audience members to discuss, process, and question the work. These conversations are facilitated to unearth the wisdom in the room. Audience members engage in small group conversations and then share some of their discoveries with the larger group. A scaffolded approach allows a deeper understanding of the work and others’ response to the new work. These conversations last no more than twenty-five minutes; we know that the conversations will continue on your ride home!
COMMUNITY MEALS
Community meals are presented in concert with each Season 13 production (You Enjoy Myself, acts of faith, and 237 Virginia Avenue) and provide audience members the opportunity to break bread together and discuss the new play/musical they’ve just seen. There will be questions to help break the ice and guide the conversation. This will be a communal experience to explore the work and our authentic responses from our lived experiences.
BIPOC CONVENING
BIPOC Convening--a quarterly gathering of BIPOC theater artists to support, encourage, and strengthen one another.
NATURE WALKS
Nature walks where themes from the new work are contemplated. These walks are open to all– those who’ve experienced the theatrical offerings and to those who haven’t yet viewed the work. The contemplative experience will be structured so that all can participate fully–love of nature or interest in one of the themes in the play is all that’s needed to come on the journey.
