Local Lab is Boulder’s premier new play festival. It’s your opportunity to step into the new play development process and experience shows as they’re being created. How?

Step 1: Call for Plays
Every year, Local Theater Company reads nearly 200 new plays. Ultimately, three projects are selected.

Step 2: Workshop
New play creators gather in Boulder for a week-long workshop of their material. Local offers them a forum to explore, develop and strengthen their work in collaboration with other theater artists.

Step 3: That’s where you come in!
At the conclusion of the workshop, the material is presented to you in the form of stage readings (April 25-27 at the Nomad Playhouse), followed by a curated post-show conversation with artistic staff and that moves new work toward full production.
