Day Two
Saturday, April 26, 2025

Saturday, April 26, 2025
Time: 4-6 pm MT
Location: Nomad Playhouse

As Augusto Boal reminds us, “We are all actors: being a citizen is not living in society, it is changing it.” Whether you wish to enhance your stage work or improvisation skills, your community organizing – or your ability to engage in conversation with that one unruly uncle – presence, embodiment and listening are foundational, empowering skills.

Participants in this interactive workshop will learn and practice the fundamentals of Playback Theater – an applied theater form employed around the world to promote insight, dialogue and understanding across difference – with an eye toward application to relationships and group collaborations, and to strengthening civil society.

Games and exercises will highlight skills of presence, spontaneity, collaboration and listening as a whole-body practice. Participants will leave feeling more connected, present and empowered – confident in their ability to remain grounded in uncomfortable situations, to listen with openness and skill, and to make positive contributions to any group.

Open to all. No performance experience (or desire) necessary. Wear comfortable clothing for movement.

$30 - General Public
$22.50 - All Access Pass Holders

A Bedtime Story for Black Boys on the Moon is a dark and poetic exploration of the unique brand of loneliness experienced by black boys in America.
