With the guidance of educators Ilasiea Gray and Val Wheeler, students at Boulder's Casey Middle School learned about the personal narrative form using texts written by Frederick Douglass, Malcolm X, John Leguizamo and others. Now, they have created their own personal narratives in the form of short spoken word pieces.
