ADAM MERVIS: WSS WORKSHOP 3

Preparing to go to script

Writing is hard. Sometimes you stare at a screen (page) for hours, erasing and rewriting, sometimes you sit down and fly only to find yourself completely lost and bored in act two, sometimes you don't start at all, terrified by the mere prospect of failure. This workshop explores the early days of your idea, and the preparation you can take to sit down and write with confidence. Through four classes we will explore four essential questions to ask when preparing to start a new project. We will do exercises, and creatively tailor a custom approach to your unique writing style. At the end of the workshop everyone should feel ready, no...EAGER...to wake up Friday morning, pour a cup of black coffee (green tea), and start their screenplay.

ADAM MERVIS hails from Miami and started his career in New York City as an actor and playwright. He then took his talents to Los Angeles, where his current films, NATIONAL CHAMPIONS (wrote & produced), and THE LAST DAYS OF CAPITALISM (wrote & directed), both based on his plays, are due out in November, 2021. In 2019 he wrote 21 BRIDGES, which starred Chadwick Bosman and was produced by the Russo Brothers. When he's not writing films Adam continues to work in the theater, his last play The Portman Delusions was produced by Theatre Tribe in Los Angeles.
