Need a recap on Pain Management? Check out the photos from the show that was held Sunday, May 21 at the old hospital on Mapleton Avenue. It was bizarre, twisted, and showed a different side of Local. Check out these photos from Local Associate Artist George Lange and photographer Michael Knisely.
Pain Management was an immersive, devised piece of theater that we created during our Local Lab 2017 New Play Festival in Boulder. When we announced the special performance, it sold out in less than 24 hours. Held in the deserted hospital on Boulder's Mapleton Avenue it was part ghost town, part playground. Stories of hope and pain lurked around every corner, in every empty hallway, and in each abandoned examination room. Pain Management was a devised piece of theater in which the architecture of the building itself is a creative partner.
