About the Course
Telling Your Story is a 3-week class that explores the principles of playwriting. Participants mine their own personal experiences to create original monologues, dialogues, and/or short plays. We build deeper connections between individuals as you hear from one another's own stories and share your own. For 14 years, Local Theater Company has been Boulder's premier new play incubator, developing 61 scripts that have gone on to productions in Boulder and across the country. Scripts range from solo performances like Stories from the Heart created and performed by John Lithgow, to musicals like Discount Ghost Stories to the upcoming production of Stockade by Andrew Rosendorf and Carlyn Aquiline, which captures an often-untold part of WWII history.
